At what age does genetic epilepsy start?

Epilepsy runs in my family. At what age does genetic epilepsy start?

depends on the type of epilepsy - some can start by 3-6 years of age while others may start in early-late teens
There's no specific starting age. There are several genetic epilepsies.  In some instances very early on in infancy, in others early to mid-adulthood. Now there's genetic testing to see if you may be a carrier of the gene(s) and predisposition for one over the other. Keep in mind that manifestations can vary from one individual to the other even they may carry the same gene. Hope that was helpful and offered some guidance.
It can start at any age. If all your family members had it start at the same age, then you could expect it to start then, if it’s going to.

Ways to avoid it from starting are to avoid sleep deprivation, drug and alcohol withdrawal, and making sure that any provider is aware of your family history and avoids prescription medication that may provoke a seizure.
