“Can I swallow my saliva after tooth extraction?”
I am a 21 year old male. I wonder if I can swallow my saliva after tooth extraction?

Yes, absolutely. Vigorous Spitting could actually put you at risk of dislodging the clot and causing dry socket or for more bleeding!
Of course. If you keep spitting it out, you could prevent clotting and the socket will continue to bleed. Hope you aren't afraid to swallow because there may be a tiny bit of blood in it- Blood supplies food to every cell in your body!
Dear Reader,
It's okay to swallow your saliva after tooth extraction. However, no rinsing, spitting or sucking through a straw for the first 24 hours.
Hope this helps,

Good Afternoon,
I hope that your extraction was as comfortable as possible. With regards to your question, there will be no harm in swallowing your saliva. Please be sure that you are following post-op instructions that were given by your dentist or oral surgeon, and that you are rinsing and expectorating with warm salt water several times daily for approximately 5-7 days after the tooth was removed.
I hope this helps.
