Acupuncture, sometimes combined with herbs, can be very helpful with symptoms from the flu, and to help you get over it faster.
Yes, acupuncture can help the flu because acupuncture would enhance both cellular and humoral immunity.
Well, it may not be able to stop the flu if you already have a weakened immune system, but it can help to strengthen your immune system. Exposure to people who are sick definitely affect your chances of getting sick, but the best thing that you can do is get plenty of rest, eat healthfully, stay hydrated and wash those hands!!
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to help enhance the immune system and ward off illness. Its immune-stimulating functions treat all types of cold and flu effectively, achieving a quick recovery without side effects
It can help with some of the symptoms of flu, plus it can help stimulate the immune system to help the body move through the flu more quickly.

We used to treat patients who were experiencing flu symptoms, however, since the Covid-19 pandemic, it is no longer possible. If a patient has a tendency to often get a cold, we recommend making an appointment when all symptoms have cleared up so we can start strengthening the immunity.

Absolutely, acupuncture is excellent for cold and flu issues. Chinese medicine has a very sophisticated multi stage view of how colds and flus develop and progress with unique methods for treating at every stage. Great question!

Yes. Acupuncture can be used to prevent the flu by strengthening your immune system, and can be used to treat it and speed up your recovery.
I've had a few cases where patients came in complaining they felt like they were coming down with "something". I treated according to their Chinese diagnostic pattern, and they had no further symptoms. Were they on the cusp of the flu? I don't know.
My general rule here is if a patient is feeling like they're in the very early stages of something - feeling flushed, slight fatigue, that gritty feeling in their eyes - then they should come in for an evaluation and treatment. If they definitely have something - fever or alternating fever and chill, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, joint pain, cough, running nose, etc. - then they should stay home, drink plenty of fluids and come see me in a couple of weeks.
