Can bread affect the acid in your stomach?

I eat a lot of bread and other baked items, I seem to always have acid reflux. Are the two connected?

Any time you eat something, the stomach makes more acid. This is normal. But if the acid goes up into the esophagus then you feel it as heartburn. Lighter and smaller meals will tend to reduce heartburn.
