Can dental implants reverse bone loss?

I have a missing tooth. I noticed bone loss in that area. Can dental implants reverse bone loss?

Implants cannot reverse bone loss but they are able to maintain bone height. The dentist may need to graft bone ahead of implant placement or at the time of implant placement.
They can act to prevent further loss in some cases, but they do not reverse bone loss.
The answer is no. You must have enough bone in the area that you want to get an implant prior to placing one. You will have to have a bone graft in the area of the missing tooth if you do not have adequate bone in the area.
