Can sealants be placed over fillings?

I am a 23 year old female. I want to know if sealants can be placed over fillings?

Absolutely NOT! Thanks!
NO
There wouldn't be any need to place a sealant over a filling because sealants are intended to seal the pits and grooves of an unfilled tooth. If the filling happened to be composite and it was in a less-than-ideal condition, a sealant could be utilized to seal the margins (edges) of that filling, but it would be a temporary "fix."
Sealant is very weak and it's only a surface sealant. It will not fill the cavity.
