Can you fix carpal tunnel without surgery?

I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. I want to treat it. Can you fix carpal tunnel without surgery?

There are several ways to treat carpal tunnel. The only real way to “fix” would be surgery. But there are several ways to make it better in order to avoid surgery. It all depends on how bad it is. Ways you can conservatively treat include physical therapy, osteopathic manipulation, steroid injection, and night bracing.

If it is the beginning of carpal tunnel, often you can start with night time splinting with a cock-up splint. It’s a wrist splint you can get at a pharmacy that keeps your wrist open. The most important thing with the splint is to only wear it at night. This helps keep the area open and not squish the nerve while you sleep but doesn’t make the wrist weak. If you wear the brace too much during the day it makes the muscles weak and then will make things worse.

This is just the basic info but hopefully it helps.

Use a wrist splint, ice the inside part of the wrist and use Diclofenac gel to help decrease the inflammation
