The World Health Care Organizations recognizes 2 primary means by which to treat PTSD, CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR "eye movement desensitization reprocessing. You need to see an outpatient counselor that specializes in trauma and uses either one of these treatment modalities.

YES! TFCBT is evidenced based from ages 3-18 years old and then CPT is evidenced based from 18 and above. EMDR is also another evidenced based practice that is very effective for trauma. Tara
Yes, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is an evidence-based treatment and is a great psychological tool for addressing adverse cognitive thinking patterns that may or may not be productive and helps to address thinking patterns altogether in a limited number of sessions. This has been shown to be extremely helpful in the treatment of many but not all mental health conditions. Please always talk to your therapist or doctor first before starting or stopping any psychological intervention and please obtain the correct psycho-analysis as well leading up to therapy. Thank you.
It is called cognitive processing therapy
CBT has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, and posttraumatic stress disorder.
