Do you get general anesthesia for appendectomy?

I am a 23 year old female. I want to know if you get general anesthesia for appendectomy?

Usually. A general anesthetic for an appendectomy will provide excellent anesthesia for any and all possible unexpected presentations of any individual appendix: adhesions, rupture, retroflexion of the appendix, laparoscopic procedure, etc. For an (?) elective appendectomy, perhaps a spinal anesthetic could be used in a hydrated, "normal" body habitus, not having
eaten patient. Every case has its own nuances, and going into any anesthetic situation expecting anything and/or everything is a prudent mindset to have. If you have the equipment and OR staff experienced with total IV anesthesia (a helpful and available pharmaceutical staff), that could be an option.
General anesthesia is used for almost all appendectomies.
