The term is called conscious sedation. Essentially that means you are able to answer questions or move if the provider allows or asks and you will not recall what essentially happened. It is normally given through an intervenous route and when the procedures over medication are stopped you either wake up or they reverse it. There is any number of concoctions that can be used because they’re all reversible, short-term, efficacious, and most importantly safe.
