Do you think I have depression?

Hi, my name is Kelsey, I'm constantly sad. I hide away from everyone (even my family), I self-harm and sometimes have suicidal thoughts. Do you think I have depression?

Hi, It does sound like you might be experiencing depression. Suicidal thoughts arent common outside of depression or another mental health diagnosis. Isolation, desires to harm oneself and hopelessness are all common symptoms of depression. Id highly suggest you see a mental ha early professional to provide further insight and support. The good news is there are lots of helpful psychotherapeutic tools and medication options if warranted. If your motivation and/or energy are low, asking family and/or friends for help would be a good idea. Friends and family almost always feel good being able to help a loved one! I am sorry Kelsey you have going through all this. Please inform trusted family member and seek help ASAP.
Hi Kelsey, I hope this message finds you well. Im very sorry to hear about your situation. Based off of what youve said above, you COULD qualify for major depressive disorder, but until you get professional medical attention, theres no way to give a confirmed diagnosis. My advice to you is to reach out to a trusted adult who can help you navigate how to get the help you need. Im a child and adolescent psychiatrist and would love to be of assistance. Kindly reach out to my office to schedule an appointment in order to get the help you need @ 6782262295. If you need immediate help DO NOT hesitate to call 911 or a suicide hotline.
Thank you for your honesty. The answer is most likely yes, Kelsey. If I could, recommend you getting professional help. Depression is an imbalance in the brain of serotonin. So, you have options: medication or therapy or both. But in order to treat depression, you need to contact a professional. You can always call 911 and/or the suicide hotline or tell your pediatrician as soon as possible and or your parents.
Please get help, I was born to help individuals like yourself and you don’t have to feel this way. Please keep me posted Kelsey.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sangra
More than likely. Please get some help with that.
Yes, you sound very depressed. Teenaged years are difficult under the best of circumstances. I would advise you to speak to your parents or another adult that you can trust. You need to see mental health professionals immediately. Please don't delay seeking the help that you deserve.
