Depends on the cause see a podiatrist
Ankle braces to stabilize the joint. Steroid injections, a series of 3 - 2 weeks apart to shrink the inflamed tissue on the inside of the joint. If this still doesn't work I recommend an amniotic injection to help bring the stem cells to the area to assist in healing. If all else fails you can opt for either an exosome injection, which I recommend before opting for the arthroscopy surgery.
The best way to treat chronic ankle pain is with the acronym RICE, which is rest, ice, compression, elevation. That can help reduce discomfort and swelling. But, more importantly, you should find out what's causing the chronic ankle pain. It may be something that can be alleviated with NSAIDs, steroid injections, or platelet rich plasma injection. It also may be something that requires surgical correction. I recommend you see your local podiatrist or orthopedic physicians.
In order to answer that question, i need to know what is causing the pain. Is it a nerve problem, worn out joint, an old fracture, etc.
