Go see a doctor for an evaluation
Unfortunately I am unable to give you a good answer. Knee pain can come from many sources from different types of arthritis, injury or even infection. I would need a lot more information. You probably should see your family physician who could head you in the right direction if he/she is unable to help you. Knee pain is not a diagnosis, it's a symptom. I recommend you get your knee evaluated to determine why you have knee pain and establish a diagnosis, but in the meantime you can treat the symptom (pain) by taking over the counter medications such as Tylenol, Motrin or Aleve (per directions on the packaging) and icing your knee (put ice in a bag, put a towel on your knee and bag of ice on top; NEVER put ice directly on the skin). You can ice for 20 min 1-3 times per day depending on severity of your symptoms, until you can see a doctor.
You need an accurate diagnosis. Then can formulate a good treatment.
