Psychologists are trained in psychotherapy. They are trained to help you find other ways to handle situations, to express yourself before you get angry. They can help you let off a little of the irritation and anger before you explode.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a beneficial style of therapy for anger. This is not to say it is the only effective style, but it is generally effective. It will typically investigate the root causes and thought processes behind the anger and help you to better understand and manage those impulses.
