Get to the edge of the bed, set up turn left and up.
How do you get out of bed after hernia surgery? The same way you got out of bed before the surgery, but it will be a bit more difficult and painful. So take it slow. You may want to use your arms to help push up or get some help from a significant other.
However is most comfortable for you. Many patients will roll onto their side and then prop themselves up with their arms to get out of bed. Some patients will have assistance from another person to help pull them up.
Consult Surgeon. First place feet on floor then push with hands from bed or furniture nearby.
