How do you stop a cavity from hurting?

I have a cavity on my front tooth. It hurts bad. How do you stop a cavity from hurting?

Treating properly
Get the tooth fixed. A combination of 500 mg tylenol and 600 mg ibuprofen every 6 hours until then.
Unfortunately, anything you do will be a temporary fix until a dentist fixes the tooth and removes the cavity.

If it is just decay, use some oil of cloves directly on the tooth.If the decay is into the pulp, you will need root canal therapy right away.
The best way is to have it attended to by a dentist. If it comes up at night, take some tylenol and place a little wax over the hole, and then get to the dentist ASAP.
