How long after kidney surgery can I drive?

I am a 46 year old female. I want to know how long after kidney surgery can I drive?

You can drive when advised by your doctor to do so. It is typically when you are no longer taking prescription pain meds and can turn easily or step on the brake hard if needed. This tends to be approximately 2 weeks, but may vary based on the method of surgery you had and your surgeon’s preferences.
Please discuss this with your Surgeon and PT/OT. This can take 4-12 weeks secondary to increased risk of blood clots and clotting off blood supply to the kidneys.
