I am a 16 year old male. I want to know how long can braces be left on?

Time in braces varies depending on how difficult the case is and if the case must be done in phases. Time in braces can be as little as six months or four years plus and surgery in the extreme cases.
Ortho treatment can take anywhere from 18 to 36 months. Braces should never be left on outside of being treated by a dentist or orthodontist because they can cause cavities and gum disease.
