How long do your gums hurt after a root canal?

I am a 32 year old male. I want to know how long do your gums hurt after a root canal?

Generally, usually little to no pain. Lasts a day or two typically. Take anti-inflammatories (Advil, Aleve, Aspirin) if you can, as soon as you are done with your appointment. Also, sometimes the bite will have to be adjusted (biggest postoperative nuisance). Everyone is different and some may take more time to heal. Check with your endodontist for information specific to your case.
After a root canal, your gums may not hurt at all. Root canal involves removing the nerve from the inside of the tooth, cleansing and disinfecting the canal, and filling the root canal space with a rubber-like material called gutta percha. The tooth may be sensitive for a few days or weeks after root canal therapy, or not at all.

Your gums should not hurt after a root canal. Your tooth, however, will be sore for a few days after a root canal.
Everyone is different. All cases are different. If you are not getting any relief in your gums, go back to your dentist for an evaluation.
It is not unusual for your gums to be sore for 3-5 days after a root canal.
