This is Dr burl hand, 3 yrs retired. If Dr Denise extracted your tooth you
need to contact her.
Pain after extraction can last up to 2-3 weeks or more depending on the complexity of the surgery. What you should look for is improvement and lessening of the pain over time. Typically your doctor would recommend or prescribe some medications to help ease the pain during your healing process. Hope that helps!
HI, It depends on the angle, the position, complexity of the wisdom tooth, whether the wisdom tooth has to be cut out or not. Also, the age and the overall well being of a patient. On my nephew, in his mid twenty, took about one and a half months to fully recover. MY teen son only had pain for two weeks. Some patients had pain for only one day. Others had pain for a couple of weeks. The most important things you need to do is to follow the post-operative instruction. Take you medication if prescribed to you by your dentist. Hope that will help! God bless!
Post-operative pain is expected to last anywhere from 2-14 days. Every patient's experience will be different depending on the condition and position of the teeth removed, as well as the health of the patient. If post-operative pain gets worse after 3-4 days, then you may have a dry
socket and should return to the dental office for further evaluation.
wisdom teeth extraction can be discomforting depending if the tooth has erupted, semi-impacted, or impacted and the level of surgery needed, the best is to contact the dentist's surgeon.
Normally for the first 3 days, there could be some discomfort, but if it lingers call the treating dentist, to rule out DRY SOCKET.
