The duration for therapeutic treatment for anxiety is dependent on many factors. The best treatment techniques teach you how to manage your subconscious mind. This really all depends on the client, but in general a would recommend a bare minimum of 12 sessions. Many clients will then see their therapist much longer than this depending on how effective they find the treatment. I like to operate under the impression that working on ourselves is a life long process.
The process of psychotherapy varies from person to person when anxiety is the primary referral question. That all depends on the severity of your anxiety, the causes, your environment, your current coping skills, amongst other varying degrees of techniques that can be helpful or detrimental. So the typical is about 12 to 24 sessions however some people do great after a month or two and some people need a year or two so it depends on your willingness to cooperate with the providers suggestions and your willingness to change behaviors to improve your anxiety
Unfortunately, there is no one answer for this. We are all unique, therefore our treatment should be unique as well. As such, everyone heals at their own pace. It also depends on how much work is done outside of the therapy session. If we are willing to work on the things we discuss and practice in sessions, then we are going to heal faster than if we choose follow our previous steps and only work on ourselves during session. Good morning. There are many different online tools and resources that vary in terms of length and depth of education. PESI and SAMHSA can be great resources for information and education. If you are having difficulty with managing your anxiety and online education doesn't seem to help, then you may want to consider therapy and/or medication.
