Hi,
There are a lot of acupuncture points in the body. There are 12 major meridians, each one has 9- 67 points. Major acupuncture points is about 360+. There are above 150-200 use more frequently.
Thousands! There is more than one Meridian system even just in China, which is a very large country. India, Japan, Sri Lanka, France, etc., all have various systems that generally overlap. The commonly used throughout the globe system is the World Health Organization version that was created to unify and standardize points, including those that have research verifying them. The World Health Organization (WHO) developed the Proposed Standard International Acupuncture Nomenclature Report in 1991, which identifies 361 acupuncture points, but since then, additional points have been added to this and other systems integrated with it.

Kind Regards,

Good day to you, thank you for your question.
There are 361 basic acupuncture points in the body plus a host of many extra points.
Good afternoon,

How many points are there? It depends on how many energy flow systems that we talk about. Most of the books agree 657 points, without counting extra points and extra channels.

Thank you for your question! In answer to your question, the World Health Organization reports over 2,000 acupoints in use over the years stemming from ancient Chinese, Japanese, and Korean medicine traditions. Today, however, we use around 350 different acupoints, each of which have a distinct use with an expected outcome. Choice is made by a practitioner based on differentiation & diagnosis, location, access, and patient comfort.

There are around 400 acupuncture points on the body
Many hundreds...perhaps thousands.
There are more than 2,000.
Great question. There are quite a few but generally we count 365 major named and clearly mapped out acupounts with exact locations, precise anatomy including depth as well as nearby features such as nerves arteries and organs, plus functions of these points. If that wasn’t enough there are hundreds of so called extra points and special use points scattered across the body as well as micro-system points in the ears, hands, and feet. I would say there are probably another 1,000 or so points beyond those main 365. Acupuncturists in training spend a full school year typically studying and identifying most acupounts so you can rest assured they know where exactly to place that needle in a clinically safe and confident manner.
Traditional Chinese medicine lists as many as 2,000 main acupuncture points on the human body, which are connected by 12 main meridians, and about 600 more points on secondary meridians. Also, there are more than 200 points for auricular therapy aka ear acupuncture.

There are 361 regular acupuncture points on the body. Then there are about 30 extra points that are not associated with meridians (paths of energy). And there are also many extra points in the ear - can't tell you how many because there are 3 different ways to approach auricular acupuncture, and they each have their own points. The same is true for the hands, feet, and scalp - Korean style acupuncture can treat the entire body using just the hands. So I'm afraid I can't give you an exact number.
There are 361 standard acupuncture points on the human body. There are many extra points, including points developed later or not on the regular meridians. These 361 points are excluded point locations on the ears, hands, feet, and nose.
Hi there! There are hundreds of acupuncture points in the body. Over 300 in the Traditional Chinese Medicine meridian system, more of you utilize the less common non-traditional points systems.
It is over 400 acupoints on the body.
The number of acupoints is highly dependent on the system of acupuncture being practiced.

Classically, the Chinese liked to say there were 365 points because there was a synergy with the length of the year. Different systems have more or less and different systems sometimes emphasize a subset of these points over the others.

Generally, we can say around 300'ish and usually be in the ballpark.
Overall, there are 410 acupuncture points throughout the body, 219 points on each ear, and 16 points on the scalp.

Some styles of acupuncture incorporate their own "extra" points as well.
