That depends on the surgery. Endoscopic Plantar Fasciotomy is usually no too bad. Achilles tendon repair can have some post op discomfort. I would recommend talking to your surgeon about what to expect for your post op discomfort.
Depending on what type of procedure you are having done dictates the amount of pain afterwards. Either way you are going under anesthesia and then will be on pain pills for 1-2 weeks minimum and have moderate to severe pain depending on your pain tolerance levels. I do not recommend elective foot or ankle surgery as I specialize in regenerative medicine options that work better and keep you on your feet and get you pain-free. For 27 years I have been advocating against foot surgery as it is archaic. Find someone who specializes in regenerative medicine options. They are not covered by insurance but are performed regularly across Europe with great success. Midohiofootandankle.com
Well it depends on which of several heel surgery procedures you are going to have ? If the surgery only involves the soft tissues around the heel then the post-operative pain can be mild to moderate for a short period of time (a few days). If the heel bone itself is operated on then the pain level can be moderate to severe for a few days to a week or more. Bone pain is significantly different than soft tissue pain. All of this can be controlled by properly prescribed pain medication.

Hi! Any surgery will have a certain amount of pain. It is best to follow your post op instructions for the best possible outcome.
That depends on what type of surgery you are to have
This will vary on the procedure performed. Discuss with your surgeon
Depends on where you are gettng it done, what technique is used, what structure is being fixed, and what type of anesthesia is used. In my office, we use minimal invasive surgerical technique, using only local anesthesia, no metal hardware is used, and patient walk on the same day. pain is control with extra strength tylenol and alleve afterwards.
