Depends on type of repair. We are doing mostly robotic assisted laparoscopic repairs which are minimally painful.
All Surgery is very painful.
Not such an easy answer as it depends on a number of variables. These include age, location, type of repair, and each individual’s pain tolerance. Having said that, the normal time to recover is less than 10 days.
I usually prescribe 5 days of pain medication for my patients and rarely have to re-fill it.
