How safe is laser eye surgery?

I am a 34 year old female. I want to know how safe is laser eye surgery?

I am going to assume that you are referring to refractive surgery done on the cornea in order to correct myopia (nearsightedness). If you have some associated astigmatism, that can be corrected with an astigmatic keratectomy procedure. FYI, there are other reasons that lasers are used in the eye including to seal blood leakage from diabetes on the retina as well as creating better aqueous outflow in the trabecular meshwork for patients with glaucoma to name just two.
In order to determine if you are a candidate for any type of refractive surgery, you would need to have your eyes checked to be sure that all health issues are normal. And a refraction will be done in order to determine what your actual prescription is. This will allow the eye doctor to then provide you with all of your refractive surgery options. And a test called pachymetry would be done in order to check the thickness of your corneas. Refractive surgery, in my opinion is safe. But it is your job to be informed as to the risks, pros, cons, and to know what the long term issues can be.
I would "Google" a few websites in order to become more informed and here is one of many;

Good luck and best wishes.
It's a very safe procedure with the surgeons we recommend. Most people say it's the best thing they ever did. A thorough eye exam before considering LASIK is critical to success. Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef>
LASIK has been around for decades now. SMILE LASIK is more recent and the incision is only 4 mm instead of 21, thus rubbing the flap is less risky. Healing is much faster.
It is very safe, but talk to your eye doctor becuase not everyone is a good candidate for LASIK. There are other options if LASIK is not right for you. Hope this helps!
Laser surgery is highly recommended and is very safe.
It’s safe , but then every surgery comes with risks and complications .
Hi! If you are referring to LASIK eye surgery, it is a safe procedure. Of course there are risks and benefits to all surgeries which would be discussed by your regular optometrist. If interested in LASIK, I would see your local optometrist and let them know so they can get all the measurements to see if you are a candidate. I personally recommend going before 40 years of age because your cornea heals better the younger you are and you will get better results.
