Ophthalmologist Questions Ophthalmologist

I am blind in daylight?!

I am over 60, blind, hypertensive, RMS, and a bit overweight. I can not see in daylight or bright fluorescent indoor light. Is "Light blind" a real thing? People usually assume I am blind, due to my stumbling about, and feeling my way around. Can one be "blind" when all this one can see is light? I haven't seen my hands or face in two years. I'm a bit freaked out.

Sounds to me like you're just little bit overdue for an eye exam by an ophthalmologist.
Get your eyes checked fully
Please see your ophthalmologist. A good medical eye examination should determine the cause of the problem. SO
This can be caused by several different problems. Why haven’t you made an appointment for an Ophthalmologist who can properly diagnose and possibly treat you?
You need to see an ophthalmologist to diagnose this problem.
Yes, there are retinal disorders that can cause blindness in light. Usually albinism. There are many different types of retinal diseases that can cause blindness. You should see a retinal specialist. There are also some genetic tests for diseases that are potentially treatable.
