I felt something snap in my arm?

I felt and heard something snap in my forearm and my whole arm felt like painful static. After a few minutes I seemed fine, but later in the day it felt like my thumb was actively burning.

The following are my thoughts, and sometimes my tips and suggestions in response to your inquiry:

And the ‘snap’: potentially soft tissue tearing, or rubbing over another soft tissue or bone prominence. Soft tissues consist of rope-like structures with thousands of fibers. These fibers connect to other soft tissues, or to bone. A tearing may cause an inflammatory response, which can lead to swelling, stiffness and pain. Being PREACTIVE may help you overcome at a more rapid rate.

Give it time.
Sometimes you have nerves and tendons bunched in together going through a narrow canal or tunnel. In your case at the wrist this is called carpal tunnel. When something like you experienced happens you get those sensations. If your thumb is not back to normal in a couple of days talk to your doctor to have it further evaluated.

Most likely you had a tendons rub and that created inflammation and irritated your median nerve.
