Hearing things that others don’t (auditory hallucinations) can feel very frightening, but it doesn’t mean you’re “losing your mind.” Given your history with substance use and the duration of symptoms, it’s important to seek medical help as soon as possible. Substance use can cause or worsen hallucinations and mental health symptoms. A healthcare provider can evaluate your symptoms, help identify causes, and recommend treatment — which may include counseling, medical care, or support for substance use. If you have any further questions or need more clarity, please consult with a psychiatrist. If you`re in Texas, we welcome you to reach out to www.MidCitiesPsychiatry.com, we`re here to help you.
