Is baking soda good for inflamed gums?

I am a 29 year old male. I want to know if baking soda is good for inflamed gums?

It won't hurt them. Probably better would be 50/50 hydrogen peroxide/water to rinse with.
Dear Reader,

Is baking soda good for gums? It works great as a toothpaste since it is nonabrasive and a powerful  base, so it neutralizes acids. Unfortunately, it doesn't do much for gums. However, salt water does, so use a quarter to a half a teaspoon to 8 ounces of water and rinse vigorously.

Hope this helps,

No. Go to the dentist for a cleaning, then brush and floss daily.
