Ophthalmologist Questions Rose water

Is it safe to use rose water on my eyes?

After coming home from the beach, I usually have a pack of rose water on top of my eyes if they hurt from the sun. Is this a safe thing to do?

It's OK if it's used as a cold compress, but not into your eyes.
Rose water is fine, but it's really best to wear UV blocking sunglasses whenever out in the sun to protect your eyes and help prevent eyelid sunburn and cataracts.
As long as the solution in which the rose scent was suspended is pure without contaminants or infectious agents, it is safe to use this as you have been doing.
