There are various successful ways to treat tooth sensitivity. Firstly, the sensitive area of the tooth most be located. Often times there is some root exposure near the gums that results in sensitivity. Other times there is wear of the enamel on the chewing surface that exposes the dentin underneath. Either way, treatments range from applying a desensitizing medication to the tooth (like Gluma or SDF), placing a bonding agent onto the tooth surface or simply prescribing a desensitizing toothpaste like Sensodyne, Prevident or MI Paste. See your dentist for the solution to your problem.
Try Sensodyne toothpaste
There is a very effective dental material called "Gluma" that is easy to apply and really helps. The published product information is as follows: GLUMA Desensitizer and GLUMA Desensitizer PowerGel are indicated for the treatment of hypersensitive dentine. They eliminate pain in exposed cervical areas that do not require restoration and alleviate or prevent dentinal sensitivity after preparing the teeth to receive direct or indirect restorations. Ask your dentist if this product might help you and good luck!
There are products that can help sensitive teeth. You can try over-the-counter, sensitive toothpaste. I love a product called MI paste that you can purchase from a dental office. It is my favorite and is extremely effective. I use it myself!
