Is walking good for hernia?

I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. I walk a lot. Is walking good for hernia?

Losing weight is the best thing for any type of hernias. Walking can help.
No relevance but helpful to sleep with chest and head elevated 30 to 45 degrees (foam wedge under head of the mattress or bed with electric buttons to change level of head). That elevation works against stomach acid going up into esophagus. Also, dilute acid at night by drinking water before bedtime. Most dangerous is taking any of the drugs that eliminate acidity for 24 hrs, which can lead to dementia (brain degeneration).
Walking should not affect your hiatal hernia directly. Walking is good for general health and your weight. Keeping your weight down will help with the symptoms related to your hernia.
