It depends!
Your dentist will decide whether you need it!
Your dentist will decide if you need to. If you have an acute infection you need to take antibiotics.
Most likely YEs
If you normally take an antibiotic for dental procedures in general due to an underlying condition, then an antibiotic should be taken BEFORE the root canal treatment. It is generally not required after the treatment UNLESS you have postoperative complications. It is always best to consult with the doctor who performed the treatment. It is usually not necessary for root canal treatment unless there are complications after the root canal procedure is started or completed.
Antibiotics are only taking when a person is having an infection. In some cases when patients who had hip or heart valve replacement as per their Dr’s request they take antibiotics prior to blood born dental procedure .if the tooth is infected. Take antibiotic ..otherwise no.
You sometimes need an antibiotic after root canal therapy but not always. You need to consult with the dentist performing the procedure.
If you have no swelling or infection before the root canal treatment is done, there is no indication to take antibiotics after the treatment has been completed (unless you develop swelling of your face or inside your mouth).
This is dependent upon the tooth. Antibiotics are usually only indicated for dental infection if there is active pus, swelling, a drainage site or fever.
Antibiotics may be necessary if there is infection inside of your tooth. You have not given me enough information to determine if you need them.
