Stress related seizures?

My oldest son had a seizure in November and in April had a second as did my oldest girl week earlier. I thought was drug related as both smoke marijuana. Dr said he thought stress related. We found out month later that my wife was having affair. Dr told him he needed to take meds to get his drivers license. Is it possible to get an all clear without taking meds if these were in fact stress related seizures.

Stress per se does not cause seizures but it can trigger existing ones.
Most states have strict guidelines for a resumption of driving after a seizure, or any episode of loss of consciousness, for whatever reason. Often, this is a length of time during which the patient is seizure free. Since stress alone is unlikely to be the cause of a seizure, an evaluation looking for a physical cause and a determination of whether medication is warranted should be done.
