Weird pain after 2 microdiscectomys?

I had 2 surgeries. 4 days after the second surgery my opposite leg from the first affected leg gives out and feels like a pinched nerve halfway through each day. It's almost perfectly on time, 330pm. It's so bad I can't walk. My surgeon told me it's normal for the opposite leg to feel like that. My right is now the one sore, but if I just go to sleep the pinched nerve feeling goes away after 4 to 6 hours. Back to business as usual until the next day at 3:30. If I try to walk it feels like it did when I needed the surgery. The same surgeon told me I was fine even though I needed the second surgery. He has 30 years of experience and does not believe in pain meds. He told me after my complaints after the first surgery that it was unlikely it was re-ruptured. He said 1 % chance. BUT it was re-ruptured, 5x bigger than the first rupture. L5 S1. I know he's a great doc, but I'm worried that this means it needs to be done again. Is this pain normal? It's a 10 of 10 pain when it's there, but for the first half of the day, it's great. My left side is pain-free after the surgery, only have a half-numb foot which I believe will go away with time. The surgeries were 13 days apart.

Get a second opinion. Start acupuncture with Moxibustion. Consult PT/OT.
Might be a good idea to get an MRI.
