What does a chiropractor do during an adjustment?

I am a 32 year old male. I want to know what does a chiropractor do during an adjustment?

Creates more motion in the joint.
To use the term "adjustment" to be synonymous with "treatment": First, the chiropractor would understand your history and what led you to their office (i.e., accident, strain certain signs and symptoms). Second, do a physical assessment of the condition with range of motion testing, strength testing, orthopedic testing and, if diagnostically warranted, do an X-ray. If examination leads to the treatment with adjustments, the Chiropractor will traditionally use their hands to target the problem area and surrounding areas to take the pressure off the joint and improve the function of the joint's mobility and make sure surrounding musculature is relaxed and not compressing any nerves, arteries, or veins.
During the adjustment, the attempt is being made to move the out of aligned vertebra back to its normal position, reducing joint fixation therefore improving mobility, alleviating muscle and ligament tension, and most of all, relieving nerve root irritation.

Chiropractors will examine your spine or other joint for dysfunction and adjust by applying manual pressure or by instrument. It’s a short quick thrust that is used to mobilize the joint properly. You may hear a slight pop sound as the joint releases but it’s not necessary for an adjustment to be done. Instrument adjusting is faster and doesn’t have any pop sound. Some just prefer it.

Hello,

First, office staff would gain some background information from you. Then, the doctor would do an exam and/or X-rays on you, which usually consists of answering questions, putting you through a range of motions, and checking your spine or extremities. Next, the doctor would go over findings with you, if necessary. Finally, the doctor would adjust you using the techniques best suited for your needs. He then would share with you post-care information.
The goal of the adjustment is to properly align the spine and restore function to that specific segment in the spine. This has many beneficial effects on the spine and the rest of the body.
