What helps a toothache after a root canal?

I had a root canal yesterday and now have a bad toothache. What helps a toothache after a root canal?

You can open the temporary filling or ask the dentist to give some pain killers. It is normal to have pain after, but no more than 2-3 weeks.
This is likely due to inflammation. If you are medically allowed to take it, ibuprofen and tylenol will help. If you can take the two together, they work as well as a narcotic.
Depending on your medical complexity, if you are able to take Tylenol and Ibuprofen, you can take 400-600mg of Ibuprofen alternating with 500mg of Tylenol every 4-6 hours. If you take any medications for chronic medical conditions, always consult your physician prior to taking other medications.
