CBT Therapy is best, so you can learn how to regulate your emotions and develop coping strategies.
Psychotherapy is a great place to start when it comes to depression. An assessment can determine the diagnosis, which will help identify effective methods for guiding the treatment process. Please reach out if you have further questions or would like more information. Take care.
There is no quick fix for depression. It is best to seek treatment with a professional who can support you. I have experience working with depression.
Unfortunately, this question does not have a one-size-fits all answer! Depending on the type of depression you have, your history of symptoms, any concurrent mental illnesses, and your physical health, a licensed mental health counselor or psychologist can estimate when you might expect to see improvement in your mood. Therapists will likely need a few sessions to assess your overall mental health and your psychosocial history, devise a treatment strategy, and communicate when you can expect relief of symptoms. Some symptoms improve faster than others, and some clients simultaneously explore psychotherapy as well as medication therapy through a psychiatrist or other prescribing physician. Every individual responds to antidepressant medications differently. The best way to get an answer specific to an individual is to make an appointment with a counselor or psychologist near you and decide whether therapy is right for for the individual and how therapy may help your's or your loved one's symptoms of depression.
I'm not sure there is a "quick" treatment, if someone says there is I wouldn't believe them. The clients that I've worked with show about a 60-70% decrease with their depression by addressing the following, sleep, diet, exercise, social engagement and dietary changes. Once these have been addressed I will then address CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, addressing the client's cognition. I hope this helps.
Depression can not be treated quickly! Depression treatment will take time and the most efficacious evidenced based treatment is medication and talk therapy simultaneously. I hope that help you. Respectfully, Dr. Epps
I believe a combination of Accelerated Resolution therapy (ART), nutritional supplements and possibly medication are the best for rapid healing for depression. https://acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com/
Therapists and other treatment providers are not magicians, and any results wanted in treatment can only occur from ongoing client investment, commitment, acceptance and motivation for change. The persistency and severity of depressive symptoms, will need time to achieve results, if the symptoms have been long term and/or severe. Adherence to medication, if prescribed, as well as the follow through of recommended coping tools and strategies, can also further assist in successful recovery from depression. There is no time table or quick fix that can be provided as everyone is unique and different in their needs. The typical therapy process averages 3 to 6 months. However, some may need more than 6 months, or even more than a year, due to the severity and persistence of depression, and other possible symptoms or issues. Some individuals may do well in only 2 months, due to minor, short term experience of depressive symptoms, combined with their motivation and investment in treatment.
Treatment options are suitable for clients who are experiencing panic attacks because of a clinically significant mental health condition such as panic disorder. The first port of call for such clients should be Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
