Why are my gums changing color?

After having a root canal and a temporary crown, I haven't seen a dentist for a while due to covid. I am noticing that my gums are changing color and looking purplish. Is this a bad sign? Should I see a dentist?

Decrease in care = less clean teeth = more gum inflammation = change in color
There are several reasons why there are color changes. You should see a dentist to get to the right answer/treatment.

The gums are probably irritated due to the temporary crown. Yes, I would recommend seeing a dentist. Warm salt water rinses may help in the meantime.
