If the tooth turns black it’s usually because the nerve has died and it happens before the root canal although it can after but thats much more rare. After the root canal usually the tooth gets a post and crown and that can take care of any discolouration.
It might. Not all teeth do.
Usually not. Sometimes, a tooth may appear discolored if too much of the tooth has been drilled out due to tooth decay. Other times, a tooth that requires a root canal may appear discovered due to bleeding within the inside of the tooth.
Every situation is different but the tooth will discolor with time due to a lack of vitality within the tooth.
It is unlikely that your tooth will turn black after a root canal, but it may darken to a shade of gray or beige if there is intrinsic staining from a previous traumatic injury or the use of dark colored dental materials.
