Urologist Questions Vaginal Yeast Infection

Will tampons cause a yeast infection?

I have recently switched to tampons. I would like to know if they could increase the risk of a yeast infection, and how can I prevent it?

Tampons don't cause UTIs, tampons and pads that are not changed regularly enough promote bacterial growth and can increase your chance of getting a UTI.

No. Yeast is caused by many factors. Best to keep your vagina as clean as possible meaning during sex to make sure hands are clean. Also important to use wet wipes after bowel movements.
