Can you drive after ulnar nerve surgery?

I am a 42 year old male. I want to know if you can drive after ulnar nerve surgery?

Yes you can drive once cleared by your surgeon
If you mean an ulnar nerve decompression at the elbow, which is the most common ulnar nerve surgery, yes you can. There should be no activity restrictions after that surgery. My patients are able to return to work the next day with full use of their arm.

Driving can be very difficult in the first couple of weeks after surgery. Please f/u with surgeon to find out when he thinks it would be appropriate for you to drive again.
That is an answer best addressed by your treating surgeon based on your specific condition.
Yes, the day after surgery in my practice.

I am going to assume that you had ulnar surgery at the elbow and not at the wrist. You should take the advice of your surgeon. You do not want to bend at the elbow early after surgery which may tear stitches or inflame tissue. Physical therapy usually starts 6 weeks after surgery. For optimum results, I would wait at least 6 weeks before driving.

It really depends on the extent of nerve damage and residual effects from it. This can vary from person to person.
