Depending on where the implant is to be placed there are different types of temporaries available.
You have to discuss with your dentist.
Yes. There are options including removable flippers and Essex appliances as well as bonding temporary teeth during healing. See a dentist for a consultation.

Yes, you could have a stayplate/flipper denture fabricated and you should of the adjacent teeth may shift into the space. If the adjacent teeth shift, it may create problems with the placement of the crown onto the implant abutment.
There are several different ways to make temporary teeth for implants. The most important thing is that there is no pressure or biting force on the implant as it heals. Your dentist can go over your temporary options.
You can get a temporary partial denture.
Yes. But it depends on each particular situation.
Yes
Often while waiting on an implant we can do a "temporary" tooth - it may be a removable tooth or appliance, or sometimes a bonded tooth. This is especially true with teeth in the front of the mouth that show when you smile or talk.
Temporary crown has to go on a tooth. If there is no tooth there your dentist may place a temporary over the implant or you may have a temporary attached to your exiting teeth (temporary bridge) or a removable temporary (Flipper).
