Can you walk after a nerve block?

I am a 34 year old female. I will have a foot nerve block. Can you walk after a nerve block?

I believe no. You should rest for best results.
I am sure that your doctor will want you to not put any weight on your numb foot Until the block has worn off. Under normal conditions you would be aware of foot injury due to pain. Obviously, you would not feel pain until it wears off. You might be on crutches, but certainly no weight bearing until your feeling has returned
Do not bear weight on the foot until the block resolves/wears off.
Hi,

You can walk, but it may take some time before you can safely walk. When foot nerve block is done, sensory nerves, as well as motor nerves are blocked. So, you lose sensation in the foot, and you lose also movement activity in the foot. But there is recovery with time. The recovery duration varies according to the type of local anesthetic used, the amount and concentration of local anesthetic used, and the reason for the block. But recovery will take place. If the reason for the foot nerve block is to eliminate pain, a less concentrated local anesthetic may only block sensation without affecting the movement much.
