Dentist Questions Headaches

Could my tooth pain be causing my headaches?

I got a pretty bad cavity that I'm having filled next week, but I'm getting painful headaches as well. Could my tooth pain be causing my headaches?

Absolutely.
Yes, you should get an X-ray of the root and a pulp test before they drill the tooth to see if the nerve is alive and healthy.
Usually it is opposite. The headaches come from tooth pain, but sometimes can be that way.
Yes, there could be an infected nerve in that tooth.
Yes
Yes, this could be linked. If it came in at the same time as the tooth pain this could very likely be the source of your headache.
There could certainly be a cause and effect relationship between your bad cavity and headaches. A headache can certainly be triggered by an event such as a toothache. More importantly, unprovoked pain from a tooth such as you describe indicate that the tooth may be inflamed or infected already. If that's the case then root canal or removal may be the only solution. Fully describe your pain to your dentist and I'm sure he will help you discover the best solution for you.
It is common for tooth pain to radiate to other parts of the head, especially the ear, side of the head and temple areas. So yes, it is possible that your headaches could be originating from a tooth, although it could also be due to something completely unrelated. If your headaches persist, even after your tooth cavity issue is resolved, you should visit your medical doctor.
It is possible, but probably unlikely. Usually, any issue with a tooth would be localized to that immediate area unless there was a significant infection or problem. The fact that you have been diagnosed with a cavity and only need a filling seems to indicate that just routine treatment is indicated. Obviously, get the filling done and follow up with the painful headaches with your primary care physician should they continue.
It is possible to have “referred” pain and or head aches from an infected tooth, mostly if said tooth is infected. But toothaches can ocurre when a person is stressed and clenches and grinds his or her teeth.
Yes, it does, it's very much related.
