Do new dentures hurt?

I just had gotten new dentures, but for some reason, they are causing me a lot of pain. I got them over a week ago. Is this normal?

You need to contact your treating doctor. He will adjust your dentures. Sometimes it takes several adjustments to make you comfortable.
New dentures do require some getting used to, and it is recommended that you see your dentist for the necessary adjustments if you are having pain. It may require several visits of adjustments over the course of several months until the dentures feel comfortable.
It is normal for new dentures to be sore for a few days. You should go back to the Dentist who made them to adjust the tightness. They may be too tight in some areas and only a dentist could adjust the right spot
New dentures shouldn't hurt. If they do you will need to go back to your dentist to check for your bite and any sore spot. Dentures need to be adjusted right away if they cause you pain.

Yes new dentures hurt but over time as your gums you will adjust to them overtime and any adjustments that the dentist can make when you go back and show him where it hurts sooner or later everything will become normal.
Yes dentures can hurt when they are new. We don't want any sores or ulcers. Discuss this with your dentist, to see if an adjustment or soft liner is needed.
Go back to your dentist for an adjustment, maybe a few times.
Yes definitely it is common. Sounds like you need an adjustment to your denture(s). Every patient heals at different rates depending on their age and medical condition and other factors.
If you feel a sharp piece in your mouth anywhere after the extractions it is usually bone and will need to be looked at.

If your teeth were already gone and you’re speaking of your new replacement denture(s) then they typically do NOT hurt and I would follow up with your doctor.
Most likely it’s a simple adjustment away from fitting properly.
All of this is assuming you have no allergies to the acrylic...where the pain is at exactly... signs of swelling... meaning a potential underlying issue unrelated to the Dentures but is exacerbated by the Dentures etc.
hopefully this helps:)

New dentures always need to be followed up with 2-3 visits to adjust them as they settle in. I cannot vouch for the fit, but I always explain to my patients that follow-up visits are necessary to make sure the appliances are comfortable.
This is normal. It is acrylic on skin which can lead to incredible sore spots. These can be adjusted away until comfortable. Discussion with your dentist should allow them to adjust as necessary until you are happy with the final result.
