Do you ovulate on the pill?

I am a 24 year old female and I am on birth control pills. Do you ovulate on the pill?

Not unless you miss pills.
No.
Usually not, but if you do not take the oral contraceptive consistently, you may have an escape ovulation.

If you use the pill as directed you will not ovulate. The pill is formulated to mimic the hormonal state of pregnancy and ovulation should be suppressed. Most oral contraceptives have one week with no active medication during which a withdrawal bleed occurs. It is important to restart the new pack of pills on time because even a few days of delay could result in an unplanned ovulation. If you miss the restart by even a few days you should use alternative barrier contraception for the remainder of that cycle.
No. The pill, when taken appropriately, works by preventing ovulation. If you take your pills correctly, you should not get pregnant.
