How can I get rid of shin splints?

I am a 31-year-old male that does moderate jogging about twice a week. For the last few years, I have gotten shin splints. I did see a specialist who did an X-ray on my feet and said it was because I have flat feet. How can I get rid of shin splints?

You need to change your shoes to accommodate your foot shape. Flat feet are usually pronated feet that respond well to shoes with a lift or post under the big toe “knuckle” (first metatarsophalangeal joint or ball of the foot). Brooks (no relation) makes running shoes for all foot shapes
