For every year of problem 4 treatments is considered a good measure of healing
It all depend on lifestyle and diet as well
Acupuncture can be very helpful for significant relief of anxiety and depression in many cases. The mechanism is very complicated. In Chinese Medicine emotion is not only related nerve system but also related to liver, heart and spleen, especially, liver functions etc. Each acupoint can acts on multiple organs at the same time. In modern words, acupuncture can regulate and adjust the level of multiple neurotransmitters synergistically, resulting in profound effects on nerve system and multiple other organs at the same time. Most patients experience significant relief of anxiety and depression with acupuncture management. A lot of our patients felt relief of their anxiety after the first treatment but preventing relapse requires twice per week for many weeks.
Combining herbs (capsules) make you much better!
Usually 8 to 10 sessions twice per week.
It would take a series of treatments. Everyone is different.
Yes, acupuncture, massage, and herbs can relieve your depression. It depends on your conditions. It might take time.
How quickly people respond to treatment varies from person to person. How frequently you visit, if you are on or not on medications and what you do to help yourself will affect treatment outcomes. I am assuming you are in therapy for your depression??? Addressing your issues is the first thing you should be doing. Depression can be quite debilitating and expressing your feeling is key and over time will help with your symptoms. I have had patients that did everything right to combat depression but stayed in an abusive/controlling relationship....obviously, with poor results. Your living/domestic situation plays a huge part in one's sense of happiness and staying when you probably should be leaving should be considered. Maybe your partner needs to accompany you to therapy?
If the situation does not involve another person, it's important to look at what you are doing professionally, in your personal relationships as to why you feel unfulfilled. Exercise helps increase serotonin levels in the brain that directly relate to mood. Engage in regular exercise if you aren't already and push yourself out of your comfort zone in other areas of your life. Sometimes, even when doing all of these things, medication is still needed. If that's the case, please don't feel bad about needing it. Chemical imbalances are common and can be easily treated with the right med or combination of meds. Some foods are known mood-boosters and can help with depression. Good luck!!!
Your question is about depression and anxiety. I would say you should feel the effects mentally and emotionally within the first 3-5 treatments, but for lasting results acupuncture should be used as one of your tools for coping, and not considered a cure or quick-fix.
It varies, as the effects of treatment will depend on the severity of the depression and how long you have lived with it. Typically after 5-6 sessions you may begin to feel some difference, however, it is difficult to predict an exact answer as there are many variables surrounding this condition.
Good morning,

It depends on the patient's condition. Usually takes 4-6 treatments for acupuncture therapy start helping.

With depression and/or anxiety, the number of treatments required is variable. Most people feel a lowered level of anxiety within a few treatments. Long-lasting effectiveness often requires other changes in lifestyle, which acupuncture can also help address.

The contemporary terms of "depression, anxiety" cannot be directly translated into a diagnosis in the traditional East Asian medicine paradigm, of which acupuncture is one modality. A proper diagnosis and treatment from a licensed acupuncturist or diplomate of east Asian (previously "oriental") medicine will be the most effective.
Thank you for your question.

The length of time for any treatment depends on the imbalance(s), frequency of treatments, and skill of the acupuncturist. Hence, no singular answer. If you do not feel some change or improvement at anytime, discuss with your acupuncturist. For mood difficulties, be sure to use a survey that can track change over time. Another good measure for things like anxiety is heart rate variability. This should improve over time with decreases in anxiety.

Be well,

Hello! Depends on the time frame of your anxiety. It may take up to few months or longer.
Depends on what medications you are on, as they slow the process due to their toxicity causing further imbalance. With patients not medicated, I see the response in 3-5 treatments usually.
Every person is different, but your therapist should be able to pick out some lovely herbs for you together with a great acupuncture protocol and you'll be feeling much better shortly.
I thing it might need 10 treatments.
Any treatment can take a bit of time. However, I have treated this type of problem and it can be resolved very quickly.

Typically many people need 10-12 treatments but some need less and others need more. It all depends on how long you have had the condition, how severe it is, and the underlying cause.
The longer the depression history, and more acupuncture treatment.
How long it takes for any treatment to take effect is dependent upon the condition, the length of time the condition has been in existence, the pracitioner's style of acupuncture, and the patient's cooporation and adherence to the pracitioner's treatment protocols.

In general, if you're not feeling some changes in your body within 5-8 treatments, it may be in your best interest to seek another practitioner or a different style of acupuncture.
Acupuncture has helped people who have been suffering from depression/anxiety. It is hard to tell how long it would take to work because it depends on how long and how severe the condition has been.
How long it takes acupuncture to work for anxiety/depression depends a lot on why you have anxiety/depression. The Chinese model differs from the conventional model in several key ways, one of which is in the differentiation of disease cause. Chinese medicine is individualized which means that even though you may be experiencing similar symptoms to other people, the reason you're experiencing those symptoms may be different.

Without seeing you and going through the diagnostic process, it's very difficult to provide any kind of time frame for symptom resolution. Generally speaking, a course of acupuncture treatment might be something in the range of 8-10 treatments. Usually patients start noticing a difference in their symptoms around the 3rd or 4th treatment session.
