How long does local anesthesia last?

I will have a procedure under local anesthesia next month. How long does local anesthesia last?

Depends upon local anesthetic. Could be one hour or maybe 2
Depends on the agent used. From 2-12 hours. There are also ways to prolong effects up to 20-24 hours.
Depends on the local. As short as 45 minutes or as long as 3 hrs.
Good question. It depends on the local anesthetic drug, concentration, and volume injection, as well as the site if injection. Exparel is the longest acting, ~3 days. Bupivicaine/Ropivicaine ~3 hours. Lidocaine ~1 hour.
It depends on which drug is used and where the medication is injected. It could last anywhere from a few hours to a day.
This depends on which local anesthetic is used and how and where it is administered. Local infiltration with lidocaine is about 90 minutes or less, an axillary block with bupivacaine can last 4 hours up to 12 hours or more.
